REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING TECHNICIAN

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician to join our team in Lagos.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing refrigeration, air-conditioning, climate control, and beverage equipment. The role also involves processing work orders, maintaining equipment records, managing technical stock requirements, and ensuring all assigned jobs are completed efficiently and professionally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process and complete work orders using AppSheet.
• Read and interpret building blueprints, refrigeration drawings, and compliance schematics.
• Install climate control systems, refrigeration units, air-conditioning systems, and beverage equipment.
• Test and observe newly installed systems to ensure proper operation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and refrigeration equipment failures.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
• Replace worn-out seals, outer shells, motors, and other faulty components.
• Monitor required spare parts and maintain appropriate stock levels in collaboration with the Storekeeper.
• Identify equipment faults and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Advise the Maintenance Manager on estimated repair costs and alternative cooling solutions where applicable.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, company procedures, and relevant building codes.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure workstations are left tidy after completing jobs.
• Perform other technical and maintenance duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or relevant technical qualification recognized by the company.
• Proven experience as a Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or HVAC Technician.
• HVAC/Refrigeration certification is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in brazing and soldering.
• Good knowledge of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Ability to read and interpret refrigeration, building, and compliance schematics.
• Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of applicable local building and safety codes.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting and handling heavy equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors and in challenging weather conditions.
• Ability to work in cold or sub-zero environments when required.
• Good multitasking and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be dependable, detail-oriented, innovative, and a good team player.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and "out of the box."

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate should be a technically competent, safety-conscious, and solution-oriented technician with hands-on experience in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. The candidate must be comfortable working independently, responding to maintenance requests promptly, and collaborating effectively with the wider Facilities and Maintenance team.

Salary: ₦200,000 monthly
