ELECTRICIAN TECHNICIAN

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and safety-conscious Electrician Technician to join our team in Lagos.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, appliances, fixtures, and related facilities. The role also involves monitoring power systems, pumps, water supply equipment, and maintaining accurate daily maintenance records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults and system issues.
• Inspect circuit breakers, distribution boards, wiring, and other electrical components to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Conduct routine daily, weekly, and monthly electrical maintenance.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Label electrical system components appropriately and comply with company SOPs and OEM recommendations.
• Develop a good working knowledge of all electrical systems and equipment within the assigned location.
• Monitor inverter performance and maintain records of inverter voltage and frequency.
• Monitor lighting systems across all offices and promptly identify faults requiring repair or replacement.
• Inspect electrical distribution boards and ensure they remain safe and operational.
• Assemble, install, test, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Conduct routine checks on submersible pumps and rooftop water tanks to ensure a constant water supply.
• Monitor pressure pumps and surface pumps and identify faults when they occur.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs on electrical machines and appliances.
• Monitor phase and polarity changes to prevent incorrect pump rotation and potential equipment damage.
• Perform general repairs and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and fixtures.
• Prepare accurate daily maintenance reports and maintain proper documentation of all work carried out.
• Ensure all electrical maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with company procedures.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or relevant technical qualification; an Associate Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant electrical experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and electrical testing equipment safely.
• Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical calculations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting and handling heavy equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors and in challenging weather conditions.
• Ability to work in cold or sub-zero environments when required.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize maintenance tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety.

The ideal candidate should be a competent and dependable Electrical Technician with strong practical troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of electrical systems and facility equipment. The candidate must demonstrate good attention to detail, safety awareness, problem-solving ability, and the willingness to respond promptly to electrical and maintenance issues.
