JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee and successfully deliver simple to complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires strong project management, technical, leadership, reporting, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills, as well as extensive site experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies.
- Coordinate project activities with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely completion.
- Provide technical guidance and advice to Project Engineers.
- Attend project meetings and submit meeting reports within the approved SLA.
- Make decisions on behalf of management regarding project-related issues within the scope of authority.
- Manage project issues, budgets, Change Orders/Requests (CORs), variations, and schedules.
- Coordinate the activities of the project team from project inception through completion.
- Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, and technical details.
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
- Participate in management meetings every Monday.
- Prepare and present monthly project performance reports to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
2. Risk & Change Management
- Identify, assess, and monitor potential project risks.
- Develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement effective change management processes.
- Monitor project changes and assess their potential impact on cost, schedule, quality, and delivery.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure all project activities comply with approved quality standards, specifications, and engineering requirements.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and audits.
- Identify quality issues and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
- Promote adherence to good engineering practices throughout project execution.
4. Cost Management
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved resource utilization.
- Manage change orders, variations, and associated costs effectively.
- Ensure project expenditure remains within approved budgets.
5. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings and communicate project updates effectively.
- Proactively identify and address client concerns.
- Ensure client expectations are properly managed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote high levels of client satisfaction and successful project delivery.
6. Team Leadership
- Lead, coordinate, and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and support to project team members.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication.
- Coordinate the activities of engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and other project personnel.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 10–15 years of relevant site experience, preferably within MEP/project execution environments.
- B.Sc., B.Eng., or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- NSE and/or COREN registration is required.
- PMP certification is required.
- In-depth knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of MEP project execution and site operations.
- Excellent project reporting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership and team-management abilities.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, variations, and change orders.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards and good engineering practices.
- Ability to manage multiple project activities and priorities effectively.

WORK REQUIREMENTS
- The role requires regular travel for project meetings, site visits, inspections, and other project-related activities.
- The successful candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on project requirements.
- The candidate must be comfortable working in a site-based project environment and managing multiple project priorities.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a senior, technically strong, and commercially aware Project Manager with extensive site experience and a proven ability to manage MEP projects from planning through completion.
The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, sound engineering judgment, excellent reporting and communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage people, budgets, risks, timelines, quality, and client expectations to achieve successful project delivery.
