ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST

ABOUT THE ROLE

PREMIUM HR SOLUTIONS LIMITED is currently recruiting for our client, a reputable engineering and geotechnical company, to hire an experienced Engineering Geologist.

The successful candidate will support foundation investigations, geotechnical testing, piling activities and project delivery while ensuring quality, safety and regulatory compliance across project sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise foundation investigations and foundation installation/construction projects.
• Conduct, oversee and supervise on-site and laboratory analysis of soil samples.
• Carry out Pile Integrity Tests (PIT).
• Conduct structural integrity testing, including ultrasonic testing.
• Manage health and safety issues on project sites.
• Supervise drillers, casters and iron benders on site.
• Work with surveyors to obtain exact points for pile installation.
• Determine the equipment and quantity of materials required for project execution.
• Ensure required equipment and materials are delivered to site.
• Supervise testing activities and operate equipment to ensure effectiveness.
• Supervise equipment setup before project commencement.
• Work with the Project Manager to manage and account for project budgets.
• Manage equipment breakdowns on site.
• Manage regulatory compliance issues.
• Ensure projects are delivered to the required quality standards within budget.
• Manage end-to-end project delivery.
• Prepare periodic reports on ongoing and completed projects within required timelines.

REQUIREMENTS

• B.Sc. in Geology, Geophysics or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of Second Class Lower from a reputable institution.
• 3–4 years of experience as a Geologist.
• Familiarity with geological computer programs used for analyzing geological data and samples.
• Working knowledge of pile installation, subsoil and geophysical investigations.
• Knowledge of geological and geotechnical interpretation and geological processes.
• Strong scientific reasoning and mechanical knowledge.
• Strong research and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple responsibilities.
• Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
