Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas
•Lead and supervise all sector field staff, including district managers and purchasing clerks, to ensure operational excellence and compliance with company standards.
•Manage seed and floating fund disbursement, validation, reconciliation, and expense reporting while maintaining accurate financial and society accounting records.
•Ensure timely payment of Purchasing Clerks’ commissions and approved staff incentives.
•Oversee cocoa purchasing operations, ensuring buying centres are adequately equipped and all cocoa procured meets QCC quality standards.
•Supervise the storage, grading, sealing, evacuation, and reconciliation of cocoa stocks to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize operational losses.
•Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and seasonal operational reports.
•Develop and implement market development initiatives to strengthen cocoa procurement, increase market share, and improve sector performance.
•Maintain accountability for cocoa stock integrity and the overall operational performance of the assigned sector.
Key Performance Indicators
•Sector purchase volumes and market share against budget/target.
•Accuracy and timeliness of seed fund disbursement, reconciliation, and society accounting records.
•Cocoa quality compliance (QCC standards) and minimization of cocoa losses within the sector.
•Timeliness of daily/weekly/season reporting and audit closure.
•Staff performance, discipline, and conduct across the sector (District Managers, Purchasing Clerks).
•On-time payment of Purchasing Clerk commissions and staff bonuses.
Requirements
Educational Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience Requirements
•Minimum 5 years’ commercial experience.
Knowledge Requirements
•Knowledge of the Ghana cocoa market.
•Knowledge of sustainability requirements.
Skill Requirement
•Financial management and profitability skills.
•Leadership and analytical skills.
•Microsoft Office proficiency.
Personal Abilities
•English plus a Ghanaian cocoa-belt language.
•Ability to drive, with willingness to travel extensively (up to 85% of time).
•Ability to coach and develop staff.
